Let's Get Families Talking

Teens experience a lot of changes in their bodies, desires, and life goals. They likely have questions as they learn more about who they are and how they want to connect with others. Having a conversation with a trusted adult is a great way to seek support and find answers—but sometimes, getting started can feel intimidating.

 Thrivology is here to help.

Healthy Teen Network created two new interactive resources: one for teens and one for trusted adults in their lives.

The Team up! guide walks guardians and other trusted adults through the process of supporting the young people in their lives, from understanding their role to navigating conversations with confidence to finding ways to start these discussions. The guide offers prompts to help adults consider how best to show up for the teens they love and care for.

In the Can we talk?” quiz, teens answer four questions to uncover their unique sexual support style, with resources along the way and tips on how to use what they learned to ask for support. Designed to be completed in about 10 minutes, Can we talk? is part personality quiz, part roadmap to understanding sexual health priorities and communication styles.

Want to hear more about these resources and discuss how to use them? Join Healthy Teen Network on September 17 at 3:00 PM ET for a virtual chat.

In this interactive information session, Charlie Blue and JB will share live demos of these resources and how we built in a healing-centered approach, then open the floor for an informal discussion among participants.
